About Ceryl Janssen

I received my masters in psychology in 1998 at the University of Amsterdam. In the final year of my study I focused solely on sexology. I did research concerning the treatment methods of erectile dysfunction. My internship and further education was at the department of Sexology and Psychosomatic Gynecology at Amsterdam Medical Center (AMC).
In 2000 I started my own practice in Hilversum and in 2004 I opened a second office in Amsterdam.
In addition to my work with clients I have dedicated many hours to continuing education, concentrating on behavior therapy and partner/relationship therapy. Unlike many therapists, my preference is to work with both partners when sexual problems are present in a relationship – inspires by the manner of American sex and relationship therapist Dr. David Schnarch. In 2012 I completed training for the treatment of Sex Addiction.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I regularly give lectures and workshops to a variety of student groups and physicians. I also work on diverse projects and publications. PS is not only a solo effort. I also provide partner/relationship therapy with another (female) sexologist. Furthermore, I frequently work with other healthcare professionals such as (pelvic floor) physical therapists, haptotherapists and doctors trained in sexology.

I am a fully certified, licensed sexologist (NVVS - Dutch Association for Sexology) and psychologist (NIP – Dutch Psychology Institute) for over 10 years.
